Influential House Building
Truth
Eve
was created with influence.
She had the power to persuade, especially her husband
(Genesis
3:6). That sounds great, but what she convinced him to do
turned out to be a problem for all mankind. We have been given a gift of
power and influence. With this gift comes a great responsibility. It has
been said that behind every good man is a good woman.
Proverbs
14:1 says,
“The wise woman builds her house; but the foolish pulls it down with her
hands.” The apostle Peter declared that a woman’s actions
could win her unbelieving husband over to the Lord
(1 Peter
3:1). That is influential house building!
Even though my husband loves
Jesus, I still want to be a house builder. He likes his clothes lined up
in matching sets. Ironing is not my favorite thing to do, but I believe
I am building my house.
First, it makes him happy, and, he leaves the house in coordinating
colors and clothes, which makes me happy. Trivial as it may seem, those
clothes being ironed and hung ready to wear equip him to go out into the
business world looking his best and free to focus on his job. This is
building my home.
Ignite
Dear sisters, you have the power! You may not be a wife, but you are a
woman created to have influence. You have a choice to use your influence
to build up or tear down. The Lord chose to build you powerful. Choose
to be a builder wherever you are in life.
Inspire
Take a moment to thank God for creating you with power and influence.
Ask Him to help you today to use this gift for the good of others that
you might be blessed and your house built.
FYI
Teen girls – you are not too young to influence!
(1
Timothy 4:12)
It’s worth a moment to flip open your Bible and see what it says.
