New Beginnings
Truth
Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not
know it?
I will even make a road in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43:19
Today is a new beginning for On Fire Ministries as we launch our new
web-site. I love new beginnings, fresh starts, do-overs. New embraces
excitement, mystery and challenge. New reminds us that what has been is
behind us.
The Lord makes all things new
(Revelation 21:5). He gave us a new commandment – love one another
(John 13:34) and a new
covenant – His shed blood (Luke 22:20). If we are in Christ, He made us into a new creation
(2 Corinthians 5:17). He made
a new and living way for us to enter into His holy presence
(Hebrews 10:20). He promises
a new heaven, a new earth, and a new Jerusalem
(Revelation 21:1-2). The
promise of new I look forward to the most is the new name
(Revelation 3:12). How
amazing that one day I will have a new name and no one will remember me
by the name that I am now – the name that I had when I lived in
rebellion against God. I totally trashed my own name. Yes I am a new
creation in Christ – praise His name! But I still have the same name.
One day I get a new name – I wonder what He will call me???
Ignite
What aspect of your God-given new are you most excited
about? Is it something He has already done or something He will do in
the future? Is it something He is presently doing in your life right
now? Take a few minutes to tell God how thankful you are for that new
work.
Inspire
Dear Lord, Thank You that You are the one who makes
all things new. I thank You for all that You have done new in my life.
Help me to see the wonder of the new things you have done, are doing,
and will do, in Jesus name, Amen.
